Your first step into the BASI pathway. This four-day course includes on-snow training and assessment, with mandatory online modules to be completed beforehand.
You must:
Ski parallel confidently
Make short turns on red runs
Carve long turns on green or easy blues
Be 16 or over
(Recommended) 16+ weeks of ski experience
Complete the BASI Study ‘online learning’ modules via your Member Area. The modules cover BASI’s core teaching and technical principles.
You’ll get regular feedback, build a personalised action plan, and be assessed on your ability to teach beginners in a safe, controlled environment.

You’ll be assessed on your ability to teach up to and including parallel skiing on marked pistes, working within the structure of a ski school.

This four-day on-mountain course is for members who have failed either the teaching or technical element of their level 2 course. It can also be booked by members who have completed the UK Level 2 course and want to convert to the full Level 2 Qualification. If members fail both elements, they need to re-book the full level 2 course.
You’ll train and be assessed in:

This four-day on-snow training and assessment course is designed for instructors working towards the Level 4 ISTD Qualification. It focuses on refining your ability to deliver high-level, learner-centred coaching.
By the end of the course, you’ll need to demonstrate the knowledge, understanding, and skill required to teach skiing at the highest level.
You must:
Hold the BASI Ski Level 3 qualification
Have accrued 200 hours of teaching experience (recommended to be completed between the Level 3 ISIA Teaching course and this course)
It is strongly recommended that these hours are completed in a mountain environment.

This four-day on-snow training and assessment course (with supporting lectures and seminars) is designed to develop the technical competence and understanding required to ski at the highest level in the BASI system.

We are now in the final stages of preparation for next week’s ISIA Speed Test, we are pleased to share that the snow conditions in Zinal are looking very favourable. Everything is set for what we anticipate will be another successful and well-run event.

Hotel Europe, Zinal
There will also be an additional briefing on Wednesday, 9 December at 18:00, in Hotel Europe , exclusively for those participating in the training day on Thursday ahead of Friday’s race.
Important:
All participants must bring a valid piece of photo identification to the race meeting in order to collect their race bibs.
